Here, he waived his famous happy fluency, in exchanged of miserable possessed souls, doom to prance, shiver, jump and fall as if struck by high fever. It was probably one of this overrated choreographer's least sensible pieces. <\/span><\/p>\nThe weightless, yet entertaining piece- Scorched<\/em>, choreographed by Kate Weare, reminded structurally, some lovely pieces by greats of former generation like Donald McKayle and Alvin Ailey, soaking dance in deep human touch. Our own, Sharon Eyal with her Killer Pig<\/em>, proposed a juxtaposing view point, and popped another pea from same pod, namely, her line of recent works. She retained huddled unisons, regimented approach with uniformed looking dancers, expressionless, like humanoids on a mission. The work's strong points was musical backbone by Ori Lichtik and sophisticated lighting artistry by Yona Avi Bueno, a master of the high caliber, who lifts any work he does by three notches.<\/p>\nThe best of the evening was a short piece by the company's artistic director, Paul Gordon Emerson, who choreographed Falling<\/em>, a short duet with haunting music of Arvo Part. It enjoyed well balanced elements, defying conventional choices of music, spatial structure and matching the dancers for that duo, danced by Jason Garcia Ignacio and Kathryn Sydell Pilkington.\u00a0 <\/span>Ignacio, strong and agile dancer with a build-in springs, is very short and in ballets, he would be casted in character roles, never Romeo.
